This is 4/4 time signature, the shift is by an 8th note in the melodies so each small white square is a 16th note. A structural, pulsing tune hits every quarter note beginning on beat one while the melody is slured to or commenced an eigth note after beat one on every measure. This melody exists initially in tandum with beats one, two three and four, then breaks off as described, is punctuated by a triplet complex and ends. This signals the start of repetitious, percusive 16th beats of the same note that layer upon other similar motifs like stairs in crescendo. The chorus begins at the peak, a mirror of the described melody in fortissimo.
The intro of Prokofiev's piece, Trumpet blasts of the same note, form a skeleton on which both rhythm and melody for the rest of the song are strung, but which does not manisfest itself for the rest of the song in such a blatant way. This diagram is rudimentary and linear but will be copy, pasted and developed more throughout the day!
